Is LifeCare certified as a treatment center?
Yes, LifeCare is certified by the Mississippi Department of Mental Health for the Intensive Outpatient Program, 30-day primary residential treatment, secondary (extended) treatment and AfterCare.

Who is eligible for treatment at LifeCare?
Men and women 18 years of age and older with a primary diagnosis of alcohol/drug dependency or substance abuse addiction are eligible to enter LifeCare. Clients must be stable on any psychotropic medications, medically stable and not in need of medical detoxification. They must be able to participate in all activities.

Do you accept individuals who also have a mental health disorder?
To enter LifeCare, individuals must have a primary diagnosis of substance abuse. Individuals who have a mental health disorder in addition to a substance use dependency must be stabilized on their psychotropic medications before entering LifeCare and able to participate in all activities. We have both the staff and the expertise to treat both conditions.

How long is the primary program?

Is there an extended treatment program?
The secondary or extended treatment program can last up to 60 additional days.

What support do clients receive after completing treatment?
Every client who completes primary treatment at LifeCare is eligible to attend the Aftercare program at no charge for two years. The goal of AfterCare is to reinforce sober living skills and recovery. AfterCare includes group therapy weekly. If needed, individual therapy may be provided during AfterCare.

What is the cost of treatment?
The comprehensive fee for the 30-day residential treatment program is $3,000. Please call the business office at 601-483-4821 or toll-free at 1-800-803-0425 for more information about financial arrangements.

Can my family be involved?
Family members are encouraged to attend family group sessions, which are offered twice each month.  Individual therapy session may be held with the client, family and counselor, if needed.

What about telephone calls and visitation?
There is a seven-day waiting period before a client is able to use the telephone or have visitors. Visitation is Saturday and Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.

May I bring my cell phone or computer?
Electronic devices are not permitted. These include cell phones, computers, portable music players or portable electronic game devices.

Are there recreational activities?
Clients attend an average of two recreational outings each week.

What can I bring?
Food â?? No outside food is allowed. Snack vending machines are available and three meals are provided.

Money/valuables â?? Clients are responsible for their money and valuables. You are encouraged to leave valuables at home. You are encouraged to maintain only small amounts of money for snacks and pay phone use. It is helpful to have change for the telephone.

Toiletries â?? Bring your toiletries. No products may contain alcohol (such as mouthwash, cologne or perfume).

Clothing â?? Each resident is expected to dress appropriately.  Before 4:00 p.m., residents are expected to wear long pants (slacks or jeans) and socks with shoes.  After 4:00 p.m., sweat clothes and walking shorts.  No short-shorts, halter, tank or cropped tops are allowed. Laundry facilities are provided.

What if I take a prescription medication?
You are responsible for bringing enough of your existing prescription medication to last throughout treatment (i.e. 30 days). Medications should be filled before entering treatment. LifeCare does not provide prescription medications.

Yes, LifeCare is handicapped accessible and ADA-compliant.
